Incentives-UK has evolved over the years, from humble beginnings to where it is now as one of the UK`s largest promotional product / merchandise companies in the UK.

Colour Foil Printing Services Ltd – was established in 1980 by the Cragg Brothers from Burnley, as a company that foil printed items, such as diaries, folders, wallets etc. This business developed to supplying the actual items and other promotional products, as well as still offering a printing service. In 1992 the companies name was changed to CFS Promotional Products.

The Cragg Brothers sold the company in 1998 to SDL Group Ltd.  The business was moved to the SDL Group Ltd warehouse and offices (then in Accrington).  SDL Group Ltd was a major supplier of trophies to the trade within the UK and Europe.  SDL Group Ltd invested in more embellishment machines, such as screen printing, engraving, embroidery, stretch print and laser printing.  This investment in production gave CFS Promotional Products an advantage against its competitors and the company started to grow rapidly.  Within the first year of trade, if had grown 400%.  The second year a further 100%.  The growth was quick, but very sustainable due to the size of the parent company and the investment that has been made.

SDL Group Ltd then moved premises to Burnley into a purpose built 30,000 sq ft warehouse, production, and office space.  Within 2 more years an extension of 15,000 sq ft was added.  The customer base of Incentives-UK grew from a regionalised business to a national one catering for a lot of different sectors, but have major success with large professional footballs teams, like Celtic FC, Rangers FC, Spurs, Ipswich FC to name a hand full.  Other major sectors were the brewery industry - Thwaites, Diageo, Aston Manner.  Automotive, with Mercedes and Renault being our largest customers, and Hotels and Leisure, Ribby Hall, Holiday Inn and Marriott hotels being some good customers.  The main reason for the success was the flexible way we worked and how we could deal with various divisions, franchises, regional offices with a consistent product and service.  We also pioneered the online portal in the promotional products industry, call `Merchandise Management` which his still going strong today.

Over the past 20 or so years of trading it is true to say that the promotional product market has had its ups and down.  The SDL Group Ltd expanded with other sectors and resources go towards the largest markets, so I-UK did take a bit of a hammering, but more importantly survived.  Today it is a strong company with a building customer and supplier base.
